The Soul Train Award show has rolled into town Thursday night and this time around it wasn't a long marathon compared to last year's seven hour ordeal.  They endured almost 10 hours in Los Angeles the year before that.  The Soul Train Awards will be held in the Fox Theatre.  The awards will premiere on BET and Centric on November 27th at 9:00pm.  Be sure to set-up your DVR or TiVo to record the award show.  I will not spoil it for you on who won what as I'm sure this information can be obtained easily online if you really do want to know who won what award on the 2011 Soul Train Awards show.

 The host of ceremonies for the show this year is Cedric the Entertainer who burst out on the show dancing the Dougie and body rock to Herbie Hancock's song, "Rocket" and Montell Jordan's song "This is How We Do It."  I admit this was amazing to see him do and as always he can put a smile on anyone's face with his good sense of humor.  He joked about the famous sweet tea that is very popular in the south.  He joked that he enjoyed a sweet tea martini early and later on he took a swipe at Herman Cain.

One of the top performances was the opening act from blast from the past Morris Day singing, "Jungle Love" and they were breaking into the sliding dance moves.  The show was exciting from start to finish and there was never a dull moment.
